Kalpaka Coir Defibering Unit Inauguration

Kalpaka Coir Defibering Unit, Alagappa Nagar is the second defibering unit of Kudumbashree. It is decided to inaugurate the unit on 02-03-2019 by Hon.Minister Prof. C. Raveendranath and will be preside by Kodakara Block Panchayat President Smt. Ambily Soman. District Mission Co-Ordinator will give key note address to the programme.

Meeting of Traditional Stone Sculpture Workers for starting an entreprise through NULM held at Kunnamkulam Municipality

A meeting of the traditional construction of stone sculpture workers of kunnamkulam municipal area was held at kunnamkulam municipality. NULM City Mission Manager Smt Simina M explained about the NULM Self-Employment Programme scheme for starting an entreprise in order to protect the stone sculpture industry in kunnamkulam which is about 200 years old and to improve & enhance their self-employment opportunities in this industry through NULM Project. Kunnamkulam Municipal Secretary Shri K.K Manoj also discussed the various schemes to sell their goods. Kunnamkulam Municipal Chairperson Smt Seetha Raveendran discussed regarding the funding from the municipality. Kunnamkulam Municipal Vice Chairman Shri P.M Suresh and Ward Councilors attended the meeting

Mazhavillu 2019 - A get together of persons with disabilities in the kunnamkulam municipal area was conducted at kunnamkulam municipality on 24/02/2019. The function was inaugurated by Kunnamkulam Municipal Chairperson Smt. Seetha Raveendran . Vice Chairman Shri. P.M Suresh presided over the meeting. Standing committee chairpersons Suma Gangadharan, Misha Sebastian, Kunnamkulam Municipal Secretary Shri K.K Manoj, Councilors Shri K.A Aziz, Shri O.G Baji, Shri K.B Salim, Health Supervisor Shri K.S Lakshmanan, CDS chairperson Smt. Soumya Anilan, Smt. Shiji Nikesh, NULM City Mission Manager Smt Simina M has came up with felicitation speeches.
This new initiative has been started under the leadership of Kunnamkulam Municipal Secretary Shri. K.K Manoj. A new NHG named as Mazhavillu for the persons with disabilities in the kunnamkulam area has been formed as a part of the function.Kunnamkulam Municipality aims to provide better opportunities for skilled persons with disabilities and those who want to engage in various employment opportunities to develop skills needed for skill development and to encourage them to start entreprises in various sectors as well.
In the near future, the scheme will be allocated for the construction of the shelter home for the protection of the vulnerable. Around 48 persons participated in the function. Children and parents participated in various activities such as music, dance, painting, mimicry etc. Trophies were given to all the children who participated in the function.

Training on Gender Equality to Kudumbashree NHG members by Gender Resource Person at Kunnamkulam Municipality

A two day training on Gender Equality to Kudumbashree NHG members has been conducted from 17/02/2019 to 18/02/2019 at Conference Hall, Kunnamkulam Municipality. The Gender Resource Persons Mrs Reena & Mrs Rajasree took the classes on the subject gender equality. Around 100 NHG members from different NHGs participated in the classes.

Ward Sabha Conducted by Kunnamkulam Municipal Secretary Shri K.K Manoj at Trenching Ground, Kunnamkulam

The Ward Sabha has been conducted at Trenching Ground , Kunnamkulam under the leadership of Kunnamkulam Municipal Secretary Shri K.K Manoj. The trenching ground of kunnamkulam is famous for the place where dumping of waste and bad odour. In the earlier days, the people of kunnamkulam can't pass through the trenching ground due to bad smell coming from the waste. But now, the trenching ground is said to be the green park in kunnamkulam where recycling of waste and waste management has been successfully going on which is a best example and model of waste management to the entire country. Along with the waste management process, cultivation of plantain tree and other agricultural items is also producing there. Ward councilor Smt Vidhya Renjith presided the meeting and other Health Department Staffs attended the meeting.

CONDUCTING NAGARASHREE UTSAVAM AT CHAVAKKAD MUNICIPALITY ON 14-02-2019.
As apart of Nagarasree utsavam municipality conducted Rally - hundreds of lady NULM enterpreners,kudumbashree members,CDS members, councillors etc participated in the rally.Municipality Vice chairperson Smt Munjusha Suresh inaugurated and lead the rally.
After rally ,Municipality Chairman Sri N.K Akbar inaugurated the Nagarasree Utsavam programme at Minicipality conference hall.Vice chairperson presided the programme.
Chairman Sri N.K Akbar handed over linkage loan subsidy cheque of Rs 374190/- to SHGs Municipal Secretary handed over the EST&P certificate to students who successfully completed the different NULM courses. Municipal Vice chairperson distributed the EDP certificates who completed the EDP programme on last week.
Kudumbashree Chairperson Smt Preeja Devadas distributed the best NHG award to Oruma Kudumbashree
District Mission Staff described the activities of various NULM Components. About 200 kudumbashree members participated in the meeting NULM City Project Officer gave Vote of Thanks.
