The Van Dhan Vikas Yojana (VDVY) is a flagship initiative launched by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, under the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED). The main objective of this scheme is to promote value addition to forest produce, improve income generation opportunities, and enhance the socio-economic status of tribal communities. The program aims to create sustainable livelihoods by providing training and infrastructure for processing forest-based products, empowering tribal communities, and creating market linkages.

  • Processing of Forest Products: Each VDVK works on processing raw forest produce into value-added products. Similarly, other products such as bamboo, spices, and herbal products are processed and refined to enhance their market value.
