Saras Theme Song compositions can be sent till 15 November 2023 for the National Saras Fair organized by Kudumbashree in Ernakulam during next month. Saras Fair is a fair organized for rural entrepreneurs from various states of India.

Conditions:
Entrepreneurship, markets, diversity, arts, culture, women empowerment and community should be reflected.

It should be singable by anyone, can be completed in 4 minutes and should be full of poetic and musical beauty.

Only compositions are required, no music needed to be performed.

The Kudumbashree Food Court opened at Kanakakunnu in connection with Keraleeyam 2023 saw huge crowds on the first days. Savory flavors await food lovers at the food court, which offers unique dishes from all 14 districts of Kerala. Also, among the food stalls where one can get branded dishes, are Vanasundari prepared by Kudumbashree units from Attappady and Mulayari Payasam from Wayanad.

The food items range from different types of dosas, different types of fish and chicken dishes, meat rice, dishes prepared with millets, different types of juices, stews, unnakaya, kaipola, pazham nirachathu, kilikood, pathiri etc. Coupons of fixed amount should be taken and those coupons should be exchanged at the Kudumbashree food stall to purchase food items. The Food Court strictly follows Green Protocol.

Shri. M.B. Rajesh, Minister of Local Self-Government and Excise Department, Government of Kerala said that the Keraleeyam Food Fair is the storehouse of flavors of Kerala. The Minister said that through Keraleeyam, we got the platform to present our rich food before the world. The minister was speaking after inaugurating Kudumbashree's Food Fair organized at Kanakakunnu premises in connection with Keraleeyam.

The Minister inaugurated the Food Fair by tasting the sumptuous food arranged in the shape of Kerala. The Minister tasted the local delicacies from fourteen districts and also participated in the preparation of Vanasundari Chicken, which is branded through Keraleeyam.

The minister also inaugurated Kudumbashree's Trade and Marketing Fair. Ms. Sarada Muraleedharan IAS, Additional Chief Secretary also visited the stalls along with the Minister. Ms. Bindu K.S, Director, Kudumbashree, Dr. B. Sreejith, District Mission Coordinator, Kudumbashree Thiruvananthapuram District Mission, Shri. Sreekanth, Programme Officer and Shri. Nafih Muhammed, Public Relations Officer, Kudumbashree were also present at the function.

The Kudumbashree community prepares local dishes from fourteen districts in this spacious kitchen with an area of 14,000 square feet. Kasaragod's specialty 'Kadamb and Chicken' to Malappuram's special 'Chicken Pottitherichath', are available at the stalls. Kudumbashree has also arranged two branded food stalls.

A Job Fair was organized in Varkala Constituency, under the auspices of Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission, which aims to provide knowledge employment opportunities to educated job seekers at Government Model Higher Secondary School, Varkala, Thiruvananthapuram on 29 October 2023. A total of 281 job seekers and 27 employers participated in the job fair organized in collaboration with Kudumbashree, ICT Academy and Confederation of Indian Industries. Out of 528 interviews, 275 people were shortlisted. This job fair is part of a special project implemented by the Mission focusing on the candidates of Varkala, Taliparamba and Kalamassery constituencies.

Adv. V. Joy, MLA, Varkala Constituency, inaugurated the programme and Shri. K.M Laji, Chairman, Varkala Municipality presided over the function. Dr. P.S. Sreekala, Director, Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission delivered the keynote address. Shri. Sabu. B, State Programme Manager, State Programme Manager, Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission welcomed the gathering and Shri. Justin, District Programme Manager delivered the vote of thanks. People's representatives and officials also participated in the function .

The Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission launched by the Government of Kerala with the aim of creating employment opportunities for 20 lakh people by 2026 provides an opportunity for candidates to acquire employment according to their taste and interest.

Kattamudi tribal colony in Adimali panchayat of Idukki district has now completely been changed. The days of misery of having to travel more than 10 kilometers to find a shop to buy essentials have been made a thing of the past here by Kudumbashree through the RKI - EDP (Rebuild Kerala Initiative - Entrepreneurship Development Programme).

Kudumbashree has started 10 micro enterprises at Kattamudi through RKI - EDP as an Enterprise Development Programme. Two grocery stores, a tea shop, a chicken centre, a cloth shop, an egg shop, a vegetable shop and a textile shop along with a soap manufacturing unit and a confectionary manufacturing unit are now functioning here. All these units are profitable within two months. 18 people are getting livelihood through these initiatives.

Kudumbashree officials of Idukki have indeed helped the residents of Kattamudi tribal colony through their excellent intervention.

'Nanjil 2.0' Agricultural Exhibition and Knowledge Marketing Fair organized by Kudumbashree Malappuram District Mission in convergence with Ponnani Municipal Corporation and NABARD is progressing with the attention of the public. The fair started on 27 October 2023 lasted until 31 October 2023. Through the marketing of the products of Kudumbashree entrepreneurs and the Food Fair, a turnover of Rs. 3.25 lakhs was achieved in two days. The exhibition of agricultural machinery, millet exhibition and nutrition fair made 'Nanjil 2.0' stand out.

In connection with 'Nanjil 2.0' Shri. P. Nandakumar, MLA, Ponnani Constituency performed the District Level Inauguration of Kudumbashree's Agri Nutri Garden project, which will set up organic agricultural gardens in every household to meet the complete nutritional needs of the family, and the inauguration of the distribution of subsidized agricultural machinery as part of the SMAM (Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization) Project.

Seminars were also organized as part of 'Nanjil 2.0' on 'Farming Clusters and Agriculture Sector Development', 'Towards Millets to Combat Lifestyle Diseases – Entrepreneurial Opportunities' and 'Family Farming – Agri-Ecological Practices'. Artistic performances by Kudumbashree NHG members is also arranged every day.

Noorang is a Heritage Tuber Conservation Centre run by 10 Kudumbashree women from the Vetta Kuruma community of Irumbupalam hamlet as part of the special tribal project run by Kudumbashree in Thirunelly, Wayanad. 'Kelikottu', the Proclamation Cultural Procession organized by Kudumbashree as part of the Keraleeyam Programme which is proposed to be held at Thiruvananthapuram from 1 to 7 November 2023 was flagged off. The 'Kelikottu', the Proclamation Cultural Procession which was started from Kanakakunnu Palace premises was flagged off by Shri. V. Sivankutty, Minister for General Education and Labour, Government of Kerala and Chairman, Reception Committee, Keraleeyam Programme.

'Malamuzhakki', a musical ensemble of the Kudumbashree Unit in Wayanad is giving leadership to the Cultural Procession. Ahead of the flag off, a flash mob of students studying under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) implemented by Kudumbashree was also held. Following that a quiz competition was also organized.

The procession will tour various centres in Thiruvananthapuram district on 28 & 29 October 2023. The journey which will reach Nedumangad and Pala on 28 October 2023 and will reach Balaramapuram, Neyyatinkara and various places in Thiruvananthapuram on 29 October and will end at Manaveeyam Veedhi.

'Namath Theevanaga' the Millet Sandesha Yathra organized by Kudumbashree as part of the Attappady Tribal Comprehensive Development Project on the occasion of the International Year of Millets was concluded at Palakkad on 26 October 2023. The first phase of the Millet Sandesha Yathra which was started from Thiruvananthapuram on 18 September 2023 ended in Thrissur on 27 September 2023. The second phase was started on 17 October 2023. A turnover of Rs. 12,93,051 was also achieved through 'Namath Theevanaga'- Millet Sandesha Yathra.

The objectives of Millet Sandesha Yathra are to promote the use, dissemination and awareness of millet farming, finding market for millet products in Attappady and promoting the cultivation and cooking of millets to prevent lifestyle diseases. Millet farmers of Attappady and Kudumbashree activists were part of the Millet Sandesha Yathra.

Exhibition, marketing and food fair of various millets like Maize, Ragi, Foxtail Millet, Little Millet, Kodo Millet / Kodo Millet Rice, Barnyard Millet has been arranged as part of the Millet Sandesha Yathra. Ms. K. Sulochana, CDS Chairperson Kudumbashree Palakkad North CDS presided over the valedictory function held at Civil Station, Palakkad on 26 October 2023. Shri. K.K. Chandradasan, District Mission Co-ordinator, Kudumbashree Palakkad District Mission welcomed the gathering. Ms. K. Binumol, President, Palakkad District Panchayat inaugurated the valedictory function and the Exhibition of Millet Products. Dr. S. Chithra IAS, District Collector, Palakkad was the chief guest of the function. Members from Attappady who were part of Millet Sandesha Yathra were felicitated at the function. Rajeev, Minister for Law, Industries and Coir, Government of Kerala performed the logo release of the National Saras Fair, which will be organized at the Kaloor International Stadium, Ernakulam under the auspices of Kudumbashree this December. Shri. Nithin S, native of Seethathodu of Pathanamthitta district and Shri. Shihabudheen T of Kumbidi of Palakkad district succeeded in the competition organized to prepare the logo and tag line of the fair respectively, which brings together the diverse products and food items of the rural entrepreneurs of India under one roof. "Celebration of self-sufficiency" is the tag line of Kochi Saras Fair prepared by Shihabudheen.
