Bulk Orders for the paper pens made by the BUDS School Students of Kannur District Updated On 2019-08-06
The BUDS Schools under Kudumbashree Kannur District Mission are getting bulk orders for the paper pens made by their students. The BUDS School students from Kannur district are thereby creating history in pen making, its sales as well as in its marketing. The paper pen making was started in BUDS Schools as a way for finding income to the specially abled students in the BUDS institutions. Last year, the pens they made were sold out regionally itself.
During May 2019, Kudumbashree Kannur District Mission received orders for 5000 paper pens from Kerala Institute of Local Administration (KILA). Those 5000 pens were supplied to KILA by 30 July 2019. Also, yet another order was received from KILA for additional 3000 pens. Along with that, they also received an order for another 4000 pens from Kannur District Police Association for their Annual Meeting to be held soon. The pens supplied to KILA would be used for their various training programmes. The BUDS School students under Kudumbashree Kasaragod District Mission also makes paper bags, umbrellas etc other than paper pens. Kudumbashree Kannur District Mission is also planning about a full time sales unit for marketing the products prepared by the BUDS School students of Kannur.
BUDS Schools are free and open special schools for mentally challenged children of poor families, owned and managed by the Local Self Government Institutions under the support and guidance of Kudumbashree Mission and the community structure.
