Maradu municipality is one of satellite cities of Kochi. This is a major fast growing Municipality of Kerala state situated at the Shore and Backwaters of  Vembanadu lake Ernakulum  dist.It was formed on may 1953 as a Grama Panchayath and was upgraded to the level of municipality on November 2010.Maradu municipality is considered as a costal municipality of state of Kerala. Maradu municipality is well connected to other Municipalities such as Tripunithura and Cochin Corporation and the city is the major commercial and residential centre in Ernakulam.

Maradu Municipality is well connected by rail, road and water. Kochi, the state Financial Capital is at north- west border of Maradu Municipality. NH47 is passing through and NH 49 and NH47A are starting from Maradu. Presence of the National Highways and the close proximity to Kochi city brought the area under the radar of investors and is one of the fastest growing areas in Kochi

Housing has become a great need of the community due to increased urbanization and migrating population of the city during the past few years. Rapid urbanization and fast industrial growth of this area has also accelerated the demand for housing in the area.
