Brief description of the business{ what they are doing and how income is generated}
The organization started operations with 10 members and currently 5 members are actively managing the operations of the enterprise. The names of the entrepreneurs are Usha, Saradha, Shylaja, Leela andPushpa. They are running a book binding business which also involves preparing the following items : NHG Minutes, NHG Register, NHG Pass, Linkage Pass, Linkage Register, College Record Book, Office Files, File Board, Death Register, Marriage Register. Attendance Register, NHG Monthly Reporting Forms etc. The orders has been taken directly from Panchayat, Municipality, Govt Schools, Kozhikode District Mission Office, Koyilandy Railway Station etc. The main part of the income comes from prders received from Koyilandy Municipality for different types of registers, minutes, passes etc as per the information collected from CDS and also per NHG’s count. Also orders from Govt Schools every year for the Record Books, Office Files etc. around minimum of 100 Nos is taken up. Most importantly order from Kozhikode District Mission Office for huge quantities of NHG Monthly Reporting Form mostly around 9000 / year helps in generating an additional income in the business. Occassionaly orders for book binding from Kerala Gramin Bank, Koyilandy for preparing the different types of forms available in the bank to be arranged in the form of a book which costs Rs. 35/- per book. Recently received the order from Koyilandy railway station for 6 Attendance register which costs 50 to 70 Rupees per book.

What change the enterprise has brought about in their livelihood : The entrepreneurs got the confidence to move forward with the activities due to success they achieved in the business. The income generated from the business helps each of the entrepreneurs to meet the daily needs of their day to day family life. More people get to know about the working pattern of the organization which also helps in getting contact with lots of people and generating enquiries as well. The income from the business also helps them to meet the expenses occurred during the wedding of the son/daughter. From the income, they tried to contribute a small amount to their neighbor’s son’s or daughter’s marriage who have a poor financial background. The income also helps in using for medical related issues like operation, for severe diseases, for buying medicines, for performing lab tests etc. Also they opened some fixed deposits and small Kuries from the income generating from the business.
Future plans of the entrepreneur : Planning to buy printing machines, computers for printing purpose. Buy a small mini goods auto rickshaw for delivering the orders. To buy 2 cents of land with building by own for the organization or to own the same building where presently working.
Any other information : They have requested and applied for a loan of 4 lakhs from Kozhikode District Mission Office for buying materials. The estimated profit generated from the business is around 1.5 lakhs per year. They buy paper from CVR Ramakrishna Iyer Stores for 1 lakh as per requirement. For the first 6 years, this is the only book binding firm who provide services to the municipalities and panchayats of districts Kozhikode & Wayanad. They gave training to students of Govt Schools regarding the production of Paper Cover Products and also gave training to 4 panchayats – Thalassery, Payyoli, Vadakara, Nadivanoor etc regarding the book binding process. Presently so far, they are giving training to different schools regarding the book binding process and production of paper cover products according to the request from head of the schools. During initial phase, the organization spent 1.5 lakhs for room renovation. On 2010, The firms produced paper bags regarding the awareness of avoiding plastics and they introduced the paper bags in the onam sales mela as well. As a result they generated enquiries from people of other districts and also most of them took a visit to their organization for understanding the production process. Also initially, the organization have done ration card binding as well for the Kozhikode district. The motivation to start the organization has been given by Mr Mohan former CPO , Koyilandy Municipality during a session in the Kudumbashree class and Mr Vijayan from Health Department, gave the name “Wellbound“ to the organization and Mr Subash former DMC, Kozhikode inaugurated the working of the organization. Initially the 10 entrepreneurs invested Rs 1250/- each which is total 10*1250= 12500/- and also they received Rs. 1,15,000/- subsidy. Rs. 90,000 has been spent for buying machines.
