Swarna Jayanthi Shahari Rozgar Yojana (SJSRY)


Swarna Jayanthi Shahari Rozgar Yojana (SJSRY) is a centrally sponsored urban poverty alleviation programme initiated in 1997. 75% of the funds for SJSRY is provided by Government of India while the State Government contributes 25%.

Mode of implementation

Kudumbashree, the State Poverty Eradication Mission which is also designated as the State Urban Development Agency(SUDA) of the state is the State Level Nodal agency(SLNA) for SJSRY. Urban Local Bodies are the implementing agencies for USEP and UWSP components that provide loan-cum-subsidy assistance for setting up micro enterprises. Project formulation, implementation and monitoring are done through the Community Development Society (CDS) of the respective Urban Local Bodies. The remaining components are implemented by the Kudumbashree Mission with support of the ULG and CDS.
