Kudumbashree is the poverty eradication and women empowerment programme implemented by the State Poverty Eradication Mission (SPEM) of the Government of Kerala. Kudumbashree was set up in 1998. Kudumbashree has a three-tier structure for its women community network, with Neighbourhood Groups (NHGs) at the grass root level, Area Development Societies (ADS) at the ward level, and Community Development Societies (CDS) at the local self government level. Now Kudumbashree have 1064 CDS and 2,99,297 NHGs. 44, 91,834 women are members of these NHGs.

Ernakulam is there with destitute through 'OPPAM' Updated On 2020-02-17

Destitute Free Kerala is a project launched by Kerala Government, aims at making Kerala a destitute free state by helping and assisting destitute. Asraya was the government project for destitute designed and being implimented  by Kudumbashree from 2003 on wards. This project’s main objective is to rehabilitate the destitute in every Local self government level with the full support of the local self-governance structure. In 2007 the Government had re evaluated Asraya project and outlined continuous service project. The government had sanctioned second phase of Asraya on 2013.

Job Mela has got very great relevance in the implementation of DDU-GKY programme that it is during such job drives that the real beneficiaries will get the opportunity to get the maximum of the programme.
