'Vayomaithri' Programme launched for Geriatric Care Updated On 2022-05-16

'Vayomaithri' Programme has been launched extending special care for the geriatrics. The State Level Inauguration of the programme was done by Shri. M. V Govindan Master, Minister, Local Self Government Department and Excise Department, Government of Kerala, at the Cherukunnu Service Cooperative Bank Auditorium, Thavam, Kannur on 15 May 2022.

 

The 'Vayomaithri' programme envisages making the Kudumbashree Organizational system, more geriatric friendly, as Kerala has the maximum proportion of elderly people in its population, among all the Indian states. Its during old age, everyone seeks more care, love and treatment. Kudumbashree had already implemented elderly NHG formation activities through 'Relationship Kerala' Programme to pay more attention to the elderly people. Now, the 'Vayomaithri' Programme is launched as part of this.

 

CDSs from Wayanad, Kasaragod, Thrissur, Palakkad, Thiruvananthapuram and Kannur districts will be turned into 'Vayomaithri CDS' as a pilot project. As part of the programme, various activities will be implemented in these CDSs such as geriatric education, formation of a minimum of 50 elderly NHGs, implementation of livelihood programmes, activities for the welfare of the elderly converging with the Local Self Government Institutions and other departments etc. These activities will be extended to the remaining CDSs after masking needed amendments as per the pilot project. The AGRASAR Project of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India will also be implemented as part of this programme.

 

Announcements regarding the Inspire Programme launched as part of the 100 Day Programme of the Chief Minister (for micro enterprises, Harithakarmasena and other entrepreneurs), Jeevan Deepam Insurance Programme (associating with Life Insurance Corporation and State Insurance Agency for Kudumbashree members) was also done at the function. Minister also distributed the Kudumbashree Naipunya Scholarship to the deserving trainees who are part of the DDU-GKY, Yuvakeralam Programmes being implemented through Kudumbashree.

Kudumbashree Kasaragod District Mission launches 'Yathrashree' Updated On 2022-05-12

Kudumbashree Kasaragod District Mission launched 'Yathrashree' Programme. The programme was officially inaugurated by Shri. M. V Govindan Master, Minister, Local Self Government Department and Excise Department, Government of Kerala at the function held at Beach Park, Pallikkara, Kasaragod on 30 April 2022.

 

The Kudumbashree members of the district are all set to guide the tourists who come to know about Kasaragod, through 'Yathrashree'. Special packages will be prepared knowing the multifarious facts of the district such as the history, geography, art, language, culture, food styles etc and the same will be presented before the tourists. Kudumbashree Kasaragod District team is making such an intervention in the tourism sector associating with the Bekal Tourism Development Corporation (BRDC).

 

Through this programme, Kudumbashree Kasaragod District Mission aims at arranging livelihood opportunities for Kudumbashree members by making them tour operators, thereby turning them into the part of Responsible Tourism activities. A minimum of two Kudumbashree/Auxiliary Group members (graduates) each will be selected from every Panchayath and training will be extended to them and they will be turned into tour operators. A consortium will be formed at the district level joining them and the tourism activities through 'Yathrashree' programme will be coordinated through the consortium. As of now, 84 members were selected and they were extended first phase training as well.

'My Job, My Pride' - Pariyaram Grama Panchayath CDS becomes the first CDS in the state to complete the survey Updated On 2022-05-12

Pariyaram Grama Panchayath CDS of Thrissur district of Kerala becomes the first CDS in the state to complete the beneficiary survey of the 'My Job, My Pride' Campaign. The campaign is being implemented for arranging livelihoods to 20 lakh people through the Knowledge Economy Mission. The beneficiary survey is being implemented through Kudumbashree. The survey was conducted in 9402 households in the Panchayath.

 

The beneficiary survey through Kudumbashree was started on 8 May 2022. Specially trained CDS Enumerators have already visited 31.1 lakh households of 16355 wards in 914 Local Self Government Institutions till 10 May 2022, 5 PM. Details of 20.55 lakh beneficiaries have also been collected. The details of the beneficiaries are being collected through the 'Jalakam' Mobile Application designed by the Digital University.

 

The survey is progressing through more than one lakh enumerators identified from all Local Self Government Institutions across the state. One Resource Person each is designated for 150 households in the rural areas and 200 households in the urban areas. Like that, 5 to 7 enumerators are entrusted in each ward. Prior to the survey, they were extended special training under the leadership of Kudumbashree. In addition to that, more than 2000 Community Ambassadors are entrusted for the effective coordination of the activities in the CDS level. More than five lakh people have made registrations on the very first day of the survey.

'My Job My Pride' Campaign launched by Minister Shri. M.V Govindan Master Updated On 2022-05-09

Kudumbashree is becoming part of the efforts to identify job seekers and extend needed guidance to them. Kudumbashree members would visit the 80 lakh households in the state from 8 May 2022 to15 May 2022. Kudumbashree would record the details of the job seekers between 18 and 59 years of age through more than one lakh specially trained enumerators, with the help of 'Jalakam' Mobile Application.

 

Shri. M. V Govindan Master, Minister, Local Self Government Department and Excise Department, Government of Kerala inaugurated the 'My Job My Pride' Campaign being implemented associating with the Kerala Knowledge Mission aiming at making available suitable job opportunities for the human resource of the state, at IHRD College of Engineering, Chengannur, Alappuzha on 8 May 2022. Shri. Saji Cherian, Minister for Fisheries, Culture and Youth Affairs, Government of Kerala presided over the function.

 

In addition to the implementation of the survey which was started as part of the campaign, the enumerators will also help the beneficiaries to record their details in the Digital Workforce Management System (DWMS), which was developed for connecting the job seekers, employers and the skill training agencies. They will also give awareness about the Knowledge Economy Mission.

 

The campaign aims at helping those who are not getting good job openings even though they have good educational qualification, women who had to take break from their jobs due to various reasons, the educated who lost their job in the crisis of covid-19 pandemic etc find suitable job sectors. Kudumbashree Community Ambassadors will coordinate the activities of the survey at the CDS level.

Literary Competition for the tribal youth of Attappady Updated On 2022-05-09

A Story-Poetry Writing Competition is being organized for the tribal youth of Attappady between 15 and 45 years of age, under the leadership of the Youth Resource Centre of the Attappady Comprehensive Tribal Development and Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group Development Project, for identifying literary intellects and to motivate them.

 

The entries may be sent to the following address or can be handed over directly to the Panchayath Committee Coordinator. 15 May 2022 is the last date for receiving the entries. In addition to the first three prizes, five consolation prizes will also be given. Following that, a two day Literary Camp will be organized for the best 20 contestants. The entries may be sent to The Assistant Project Officer, Kudumbashree Mission, Attappady, KILA Campus, Agali, Palakkad.

Kudumbashree becomes the pride of Kerala by arranging livelihood opportunity for more than 12,000 people in 100 Days Updated On 2022-05-07

Kudumbashree has made greatest achievement in the 100 Day Programme announced in connection with the first anniversary celebrations of the State Government. Shri. M.V Govindan Master, Minister, Local Self Government Department and Excise Department, Government of Kerala had made the declaration regarding the same at the function held at EMS Hall, District Panchayath, Thiruvananthapuram on 7 May 2022.

 

Kudumbashree has completed the 100 Day Programme, which aimed at arranging livelihood opportunity for the common people through self employment and waged employment through skill training, at its best. The 100 Day Programme is being implemented from 10 February 2022 till 20 May 2022. Kudumbashree was able to arrange a source of income to more than 12,000 people during this period.

 

2678 youth who completed skill training through Yuvakeralam, DDUGKY programmes were given waged employment. Whereas, 7865 people were able to find self employment through livelihood programmes (Micro Enterprises, Animal Husbandry, Agri Value Addition Production units, National Urban Livelihood Mission, Startup Village Entrepreneurship Programme). The aim was to give self employment to 5000 people.

 

In addition to that, Kudumbashree was able to give Interest Free Loan to 2824 emigrants through the PEARL Programme, being implemented by Kudumbashree converging with NORKA Roots to support the emigrants who lost their jobs are in crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Kudumbashree was also able to launch 1719 enterprises of the emigrants. It was aimed to start 1000 enterprises.

Kudumbashree's food stalls opened at the food court of Kerala Games Expo 2022 Updated On 2022-05-05

Kudumbashree's food stalls are opened at the food court of Kerala Games Expo 2022 being held at Kanakakunnu Palace, Thiruvananthapuram from 29 April 2022 to 10 May 2022. The food stalls are serving mouth watering cuisines from different states of the country such as Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Punjab etc. The food court is opened as part of the Expo in connection with the first ever Kerala Olympic Games. The food court is built in an 8000 sq ft area and the food court started functioning from 29 April 2022 itself. The Kerala Olympic Games is being organized under the leadership of Kerala Olympic Association and the Expo is conducted as part of the Games.

 

Pidi, Kozhi, Malabar snacks, biriyani, various types of juices etc are available at the food court. 10 Kudumbashree units viz., Vinayaka, Samjis, Krishna, Unique, Lakshya, Kalyani, Annapoorna, Souparnika, Vanitha Bakes, Kairashi from Thiruvananthapuram, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kasaragod districts are participating in the food court. The Expo also includes Exhibition-Sales stalls by the entrepreneurs from different parts of the country, Mango Festival, Ornamental Fish Exhibition, Flower Show, Cultural Activities etc.

Kudumbashree receives recognition from Kerala Startup Mission Updated On 2022-04-28

Kudumbashree was recognized by Kerala Startup Mission for Kudumbashree's approach of giving motivation to startups. Shri. K.N. Balagopal, Minister for Finance, Government of Kerala gave the Award for the Best Performing Startup Friendly Department to Smt. P.I. Sreevidya IAS, Executive Director, Kudumbashree at the inaugural function of the Public Procurement Summit held at Mascot Hotel, Thiruvananthapuram on 26 April 2022. The Public Procurement Summit was organized by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM).

 

The services of startups were used in various activities of Kudumbashree such as Destitute Free Kerala Programme-DFK (Portal & Mobile Application), Micro Enterprises (Mobile Application), Agricultural Sector (Management Information System, Portal, Mobile Application), Marketing (Kudumbashree Bazaar), Harsham, 100 Day Programme (Employment Tracking), Harithakarmasena, Janakeeya Hotel (Billing Software) etc.

Kudumbashree women participates in the Mahila Anna Swaraj Convention held at Delhi Updated On 2022-04-27

Two Kudumbashree women have participated in the Mahila Anna Swaraj Convention held at at Vishwa Yuva Kendra, Delhi from 7 April 2022 to 9 April 2022. Smt. Bindu. B from Kollam district of Kerala and Smt. Bindu Koshy from Pathanamthitta district of Kerala are the two women who participated in the Mahila Anna Swaraj Convention as per the invitation of Smt. Vandana Shiva, environmental activist. The Convention was held under the leadership of the NGO- Navdanya.

 

Smt. Bindu. B, hailing from the Kadakkal Grama Panchayath of Kollam district and Smt. Bindu Koshy hailing from Malayalapuzha Grama Panchayath of Pathanamthitta district are members of Kudumbashree Farming Groups (JLG-Joint Liability Group). Also, both of them are successfully running the Jaivika Plant Nursery of Kudumbashree. They were able to share their ideas with the other delegates who came from different states of the country. After taking part in the convention, they had also taken part in preparing a Women's Manifesto on Biodiversity Conservation, Sustainable Agriculture and Healthy Food Systems.

Kudumbashree bags the award for the Best Food Court at 'Ente Keralam' Mega Exhibition Sales Mela held at Thrissur Updated On 2022-04-27

Kudumbashree had bagged the award for the Best Food Court at 'Ente Keralam' Mega Exhibition Sales Mela held at Thekkinkadu Ground, Thrissur in connection with the First Anniversary Celebrations of the State Government. Also, Sreelakshmi Handloom, a Kudumbashree enterprise unit under Thiruvilwamala CDS, had bagged the Award for the Best Commercial Stall.

 

The Exhibition Sales Mela was held from 18 April 2022 to 24 April 2022. 9 Kudumbashree Cafe units became part of the food court. Various food items such as panipuri, bhelpuri, masala puri, dosa, appam, chapati, ney pathiri etc were served through these food courts. Sales of Rs 10.55 lakhs were recorded from the food court. Products of 22 Kudumbashree units were arranged in 14 product sales stalls. Sales of Rs 12.23 lakhs were recorded from these sales stalls.

 

A cookery competition was also organized for Kudumbashree members for the promotion of the mela. The contestants were asked to make 7 different cuisines. Those who bagged first prize in the competitions at all the 16 blocks had taken part in the district level competitions held at the exhibition sales mela venue from 19 April 2022.

 

Shri. K. Rajan, Minister for Revenue and Housing Government of Kerala and Shri. K. Radhakrishnan, Minister for Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes and Devaswoms, Government of Kerala gave away the awards to the winners.
