Background:

Life goes on, whether we chose to move on or stay behind, locked in the past, thinking of what could’ve been. Myself Akhil Babu hailing from Thrissur. Life seems so nice to me at present. But it was not the case in the past. My father was a drunkard, who usually caused lots of trouble in the home. My mother and grandmother went for household works and my elder brother would go for stage decoration works.

I was not at good at my studies and I failed in my plus two examination. I was sure that I can’t become someone great in life. The truth is that I was not really serious about my life and career. After my plus two I started working in a fish market, then I moved to Malaysia in search of another job. After couples of months I returned back home and then got a job at Ernakulum in a sales shop with a salary of Rs 10,000.

Even though I had a job with a favorable salary, I wasn’t happy because my heart always reminded me that I could have got better life if I had studied well during my schoolings. All these regrets vanished off when I successfully completed my Retail (sales person) course of DDUGKY Project. We came to know about the course from Joseph Sir and Linesh Sir. Both of them gave us hopes for a better life and career if I successfully manage to complete the course.

I joined in the 7th batch of Mega Industries Thrissur. Classes were excellent, informative and motivational. Rejitha Miss (retail), Neenu Miss (IT) and Raji Miss (computer) were our teachers for the respective subjects. We were taken for interviews at the end of the course. And I was selected as the salesman trainee at Kalyan Silks, Kozhikode with a salary of Rs.8500.

I and my family was very happy getting this great opportunity. I was sure that this job would give me a better life and reputation even if I am not a graduate. Thanks to almighty for everything I received. Heartfelt gratitude to all my teachers and every personals behind DDUGKY Project. Background:

Myself Christo C Wilson from Kattakambal, Thrissur. I belongs to a middle class family that consist of four members, my father, mother and a younger sister who is a student. My father is a business man and my mother, a homemaker. I was not at all interested in higher studies after my plus two.

My ambition was to achieve a job with a good salary and help my parents. It was not so easy so I started to work as an apprentice for an event management group. Even though my earning was little, and my mother didn’t favoured the work, I enjoyed working in there. I became very much tired due to lack of proper sleeping hours.

Meanwhile, my mother came to know about the DDUGKY project through Kudumbashree personals. Thereafter, we together attended a mobilization camp that seemed very much impressive from the presentation done by Linesh Sir, centre head of Mega industries Kunnamkulam.

Later, I joined in the first batch of DDUGKY project at Mega Industries for the trade Sales Person (Retail). The classes were very interesting. Our teachers, Linesh sir, Raji miss and Sukesh sir was very much friendly and had great subject knowledge.

At the end of training programme we were presented for various interviews. I was selected in Jolly Silks, Ernamkulam as ‘sales man trainee’, with the salary of Rs.8500. It was an interesting job. Later on, I joined for a new job on 15/02/2016 and was appointed in the section of churidhar materials.

But I was much interested for a job in jewellery field and fortunately after two months I got my dream job at Laser and Sons Jewellers, Kechery with a salary amount of Rs.8500. Currently I earn a salary amount of Rs.10500, in my new job that I joined on 11 April 2016.

My family is very happy now. This happiness was brought to us by DDUGKY project. Words are just not enough to express my and my family’s gratitude. Thanks to all of you working behind this great project.

Myself Jishnu P P from Kattakambal of Thrissur District. My family consist of four members- me, my father, mother and brother. My father is a labourer. My mother is a homemaker and brother is a student. My father’s earnings were not enough to fulfil our needs. Even though I had completed my plus two studies I was not at all interested in higher studies.

My mother came to know about DDUGKY project through Kudumbashree personals. She forced me to join the course which I was not interested. My mother compelled me a lot and at last we together attended a mobilization camp in our panchayath. We were very much impressed with the presentation of Mega industries Kunnamkulam.

I joined in the first batch of Mega industries for the trade Sales Person (Retail). Classes were not a typical class room and was very much interesting. Teachers were very friendly.

At the end of our training we were taken for various interviews. I got selected at Lifestyle, Sobha City Mall, Puzhakkal, Thrissur as sales man trainee with a salaryfor a salary of Rs.10835. My family and I became so happy and I joined on 05 March 2016.

It is all because of DDUGKY project we are living a better life in the society now. I had suggested my friends to opt DDUGKY for their higher studies. From the bottom of my heart I thank all DDUGKY persons and my beloved teachers. Thank you all.

My father is a welder by profession and my mother, a homemaker. I did ITI as my higher studies after my plus two.

I couldn’t manage to find a job after completing my ITI. I never thought that my dream of getting a job would come true with the help of the people whom I had never met before. I’m extremely thankful to my best friend who told me about the central govt. project DDUGKY, I and my mother attended the mobilization and we were impressed with the presentation done by Mega Industries Thrissur. Life has been so smooth since then.

Myself Suneesh K B, hailing from Valad village, an undeveloped place near to Mananthavady in Wayanad district. I belong to the ST category of the community and I had completed tenth standard and ITI. After ITI, I sat idle for some time as I had no idea where to go or what to do for getting a job to support my family. My parents are daily wages workers but there as times when there are no works available and they have to sit idle at home. So I was really in need of a job. I came to know about the DDU GKY program through the SC/ST promoter in our area. I was hesitant to join the course in the beginning but somehow I managed to join the course. After few days I gathered interest in the studies and completed the course. The training I received at the centre had made significant changes in my character and my attitude towards life. The trainers were very supportive and helped me to overcome my limitations. I had received seamless support from my friends and family too. At the end of the training I was given an opportunity to attend the interview at Kannankandy Home Appliances, Mananthavady. I tried my level best in the interview and got selected to the post of Trainee Sales Associate with a salary of Rs. 8000 per month.

I was overwhelmed with joy as such a job was not there even in my wild dreams. I joined the organization and started working. In the beginning it was bit challenging for me as I was not comfortable talking to people. But gradually I overcame all those barriers and settled in my job.

I got promotion to Sales Associate and later I was selected for the post of In Shop Demonstrator (ISD) for Whirlpool. My current net salary is well above Rs. 17,000 pm and I am really thankful to my trainers, friends and my family.

At that time I came to know about the DDU-GKY project and the automotive service technician entry level. I joined for the course and completed the two month class room training classes. I had done my OJT at Green ways Automobiles. After OJT I joined in other firm KVR MARUTHI PATTAMBI As service technician at a paid salary of Rs 9000 and incentives.

Now I’m so happy and proud about my job. I’m so happy that I can look after my family.
