Destitute Free Kerala Survey in Idukki Updated On 2018-03-05

Destitute Free Kerala is a project launched by Kerala Government, aims at making Kerala destitute free. Asraya is a government project designed and carry out by Kudumbashree from 2003 onwards. The project’s main objective is to rehabilitate the destitute in every LSG with the full support of the local self-governance structure. Bringing the destitute families into the mainstream of society and providing them with basic necessities such as food, housing, drinking water, sanitation, health care and clothing based on the specific needs and requirements of each of these families are also the objectives of Asraya. Government approved the second phase of Asraya on 2013. Destitute Free Kerala is a project put forward by Kerala government on 2017-18 budget.
