Women Empowerment

 


Real empowerment occurs only when rights can be legitimately claimed and are universally acknowledged. It is the Endeavour of Kudumbashree to bring the discussion on women’s rights and issues into the heart of the development debate. The organisational structure and capacity building programmes of Kudumbashree attempt to develop the leadership capabilities and opportunities for intervention in development activities. The main objective of Gender Programmes of Kudumbashree the creation of woman-child friendly NHG areas. For this the entire programmes are imparting role through (1) Preventive and Proactive, (2) Reactive and Supportive and (3) Transformative strategies. The Gender Self Learning Programme is a unique experiment to consolidate women's voices, discuss gender disparities and make deliberate actions to improve the living environment of women with Gender Equality. As a part of Women Empowerment activities Kudumbashree started the following exclusive programmes. Gender Corners set at CDS level devised as a source of opportunities for women to develop themselves in areas where require improvement. Also, a help desk is set within to support her during difficulties. Community counselors are there to provide pre marital and primary counseling to her. At District Level, Snehitha centres are functioning in 6 Districts that provide immediate support to women and children who are survivors of atrocities. Community theatre initiative is to develop her skills in theatre and act as a tool for sensitization. Sreesakthi portal act as an entrance to web space, for ICT. Crime mapping activity is organized in selected CDS to collect data on violence against women and prepare a local specific plan to address them. Anti Human Trafficking is the ongoing pilot project of NRLP in Chittoor, Devikulam and Mananthavady Block, is the new area in which is Kudumbashree is involving as a Mission....
